The first question asks us about the most important lesson we can teach our children.
For me, education is based on respect; everything else stems from it, because a person who shows respect for their surroundings will be a good son, a good brother, a good father, and a good friend. Respect for others will prevent them from committing reprehensible or discriminatory acts. Furthermore, those who show respect to others usually deserve the same treatment.
Respect implies consideration for other human beings and courtesy. It's like a regulator that prevents the worst impulses from being unleashed and that encourages the appropriate expression of our ideas, always with restraint. Even any value we wish to instill in our children, such as honesty, humility, selflessness, etc., also stems from raising them to be respectful beings.
When a child begins to be aware of their place in the world, it's important to help them understand that they, too, deserve respect.
As parents, we have a duty to help our children develop and strengthen their self-esteem, so they can gain self-confidence and become fulfilled, functional adults. Psychologists often say that we all carry childhood wounds; however, I believe nothing is absolute. Not everyone carries the burden of a childhood filled with frustrations; otherwise, little or nothing would be worthwhile in their education.
The second question asks us about failure and success, which of the two is more important in life. A friend often says that some people find everything easy, while others seem destined to pay a debt, as any goal becomes a true ordeal for them. True or not, most people who achieve success have had to go through trials, crises, doubts, fears, and failures. All of this is very human. Popular wisdom says that what comes easily, goes easily. From this, it follows that the harder it is to achieve a goal, the more we value the result.
We humans tend to yearn for success, which is valid, as it keeps us focused, hardworking, and persevering. Conversely, we have diverse reactions to failure, and that's what sets us apart. Failure brings experience, tests our will, and if we persist, it becomes a learning opportunity.
Finally, to connect both questions, another valuable lesson for children is that of failure. Teaching them ways to overcome frustration from a young age can also become one of the greatest gifts. If we're talking about proportion, failure is just as important as success. Supporting our children through their failures is essential, as is finding assertive and inspiring words for them. The love we have for them will never depend on their successes or failures, because nothing matters as much as their own well-being.
Until next week. Thank you for visiting my blog.

LECCI脫N PARA LOS HIJOS
