I had another awesome time learning about the doctrine of Christ as taught by Bro Eli and this time we focused on baptism which is one of the major part of these indoctrination teaching.
I learnt that baptism is sacred and should be done properly just as the Lord commands. Baptism should be done in the name of the Father and not just with the name of the Father. The misconception we have today is that many do baptism with the name and not in the name, which is a very wrong approach to that sacred activity.
The word "IN" is a preposition that connote a place. So baptism should be done in the name of the Father. The name of the Father according to Eph 3:14 is His household and the household is the Church of God.
We are also baptised into one body according to Col.1:18. The body is still His church where Christ functions as the head. We can also see this proof in Heb.3:6.
Now we can see that the name of the Father is the "Church" baptism into the body also mean baptizing in the name of Jesus.
Lastly we are to be baptized in the name of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit can be found in His church. The Spirit dwell in the temple. The summary of this is that baptism should not be done outside the Church where it is specified by God. It should be done in the name of the Lord and not just with the name of the Lord.
