I don't know if Values Education is still taught in school nowadays but if it still is, then for me, it is the most important subject to study. It is not that I underestimate other subjects but, no matter how smart you are in other subject areas but you have a bad character, then it is of no use at all.
In case you have not noticed, our water and air are polluted. Factories and business establishments are dumping their wastes directly to bodies of water resulting to pollution and death of fishes and other aquatic animals. Factories and other industries belch thick black smoke into the air which causes illness to people and other land animals. Now, who made these factories? Who manages them? Mostly, professionals who excelled in Mathematics and Science. I did not say, all but mostly.
It is not only factories and industries are ruining Earth. How many of us throw our candy wrappers and food wrappers anywhere? How many of us burn our thrashes which emit harmful smokes to the environment?
Now, I did not say that studying Mathematics, or Science or English is bad. But, what is bad is, if we neglect our responsibility to mother Earth. If we continue to ruin mother Earth, what will the future generation see? Where will they live? Let us not wait that our children will see the animals only in pictures.
Now, in conclusion, let us study Values Education by heart. There is still time. We can still make our world liveable for the next generations to come. what we only need to do is change our habits and be sensitive to the needs of this world.
