Ever wondered about the importance of water? Well let me give you a brief view on its importance.
Our Earth is made of 70% of water, of which 97% is saltwater (which is, unsuitable for drinking). The remaining 2% is freshwater which is consumable for drinking and other sort of activities carried out by us. Yet, more than 70% of this water is found within the glaciers and ice sheets, hence it is quite hard for us to extract. 2% or even less depending on the site being discussed is found within the atmosphere and only around 30% which is retrievable by drilling boreholes is found in the ground.
Yet, even though we have small supplies of this important source of water, there is enough to supply the whole population of the Earth three times over. So why are many people in need of water?? The answer is, we are greedy and we tend to think about ourselves and care less about others. If we divide our supply of water we would be helping not only the people in Africa but also us. As the English states "Every drop matters" and if we do manage to safeguard our most important natural resource, the whole world would surely benefit!!
