For those who might not undertsand the language....
Soon each of us will know someone who died of Corona, "said Chancellor Kurz in March 2020. Since the beginning of the Corona madness, the government has deliberately stoked fear. A study by the US health authority CDC now reveals a frightening connection: Fear is the second most important factor in deaths from COVID-19. It is still unclear whether this will also have an impact on suicide rates, however: In Austria there were 30% more suicide attempts in 2020 than in 2019.
The fear that is generated causes stress and weakens the immune system, which makes them more susceptible to infection.
CDC study shows that the second strongest risk factor for corona death is fear.
Fear is intensified by directed attention to Corona.
Long-term consequences of the fear-mongering are not yet in sight, but suicide attempts in Austria have increased by 30%.
Anxiety causes stress and weakens the immune system
"Studies show that people actually died of the fear that was produced by such slogans and reporting in the mainstream media," explains Peter F. Mayer on his tkp blog. Anxiety indirectly weakens our immune system through stress and increases the risk of infection. Constant stress from lockdowns, isolation and lack of clarity as to which rules will apply tomorrow have an enormous physical impact on us. We consume essential substances such as tryptophan (precursor of serotonin), vitamin D, omega 3 or magnesium. Those who are well supplied with these essential substances develop less or no fear.
Second strongest risk factor for corona death: fear
According to a study by the US health authority CDC, the strongest risk factors for death would be obesity first and foremost, then anxiety and anxiety-related disorders and only in third place diabetes with complications. Another study on the psychological and long-term consequences found “further evidence” of the validity of “the construct of COVID-19 anxiety syndrome” in the UK population during the third lockdown, Mayer explains.
More fear through directed attention to Corona
Correlation analyzes from another study would have shown a connection between the level of health anxiety (COVID-19 anxiety and COVID-19 anxiety syndrome) and the values for generalized anxiety and depression. "The anxiety states are apparently reinforced by the fact that increased attention is drawn to everything that has to do with Covid or Corona," writes Mayer. The more attention is paid to it, the more difficult it is to get rid of it. Indications of a large spread of negative consequences for people's mental health were also found in a study with the title, translated into German, “Fear of health and distorted attention to virus-related stimuli during the COVID-19 pandemic”. Along with depression and sleep disorders, anxiety symptoms appear to be the most common clinical consequences.
30% more suicide attempts
"The bottom line is that it is clear that the stirring up of fear and uncertainty through politics and the media has not only caused many deaths, but will also have long-term negative effects," summarizes Mayer.
In May, a paramedic in the Corona Committee described drastically that suicide attempts were increasing, as Wochenblick reported. Also on a survey of 3,000 Viennese schoolchildren, which showed that every sixth child had already had suicidal thoughts, and on the exploding suicide rate in the USA, Wochenblick reported (here and here). To what extent these fears and depressions triggered by government propaganda will also be reflected in the suicide statistics in Austria - even in the longer term - is not yet clear. It is clear, however, that a parliamentary question from the FPÖ revealed that the number of suicide attempts in Austria in 2020 rose by an incredible 30% from 797 to 1,038 in comparison to the previous year.
