i vote for myself by publishing / commenting. i suppose i'm trying to act without "lust of result," whatever that means here, high-minded idealism that loses me money? but if i've never pursued that reward, can i lose it?

recently, i've been reading Women, Fire, and Dangerous Things, by George Lakoff, a book about mental categories. the Stephen Covey paraphrase graphic you have at the beginning really nails the main thrust of the book, that regardless of what we might think about the world, the way we think about it is decidedly human, based strongly in our personal, bodily experiences. i've never read any Covey, but it was interesting to see the overlap.
