Recent studies have shown that if a person sleeps less than five hours, the risk of premature death increases.

If a person "sleeps off" on the weekend, this negative effect is reduced. For 13 years, scientists have observed the lifestyle, daily routines and work schedules of 38,000 patients of various sexes, ages, body weights and general health.

During the study, 2,500 people died of cancer and cardiovascular disease. A detailed study of the health status of people under 65 years of age revealed that those who slept less than five hours a day had an increased risk of premature death (65% higher) compared to those who slept for a longer time.

If a person slept on the weekend much longer (more than 8 hours), the likelihood of early mortality did not increase.
