So it has come to my attention that POB rewards will be slashed by 20% for all users not using the old front end. This is a great way to create a big dip in Proof of Brain. I'll be able to get back to my #3 spot in the biggest whale list of POB by just buying more POB but at what cost? These changes will probably hurt the price of POB in spite of its austere 21,000,000 coin limit.
Suppose in ten years POB is worth $10 / coin, how will this happen? We need to think more utility of the token and how it can be used. The maximalists Bitcoiners who seem to be right by the way, will say that Bitcoin can be used for payments so the new coins don't have that advantage over Bitcoin and Bitcoin can potentially copy features added by new coins to it. We know now the second part of this assertion is just false. New coins can get features that the devs of Bitcoin are way to conservative to add to the protocol.
Proof of Brain is a token level currency that runs on top of Hive. It is the Hive Engine server and maintainers and the Hive witnesses which keep Proof of Brain going. Think gambling, online stores, think web-hosting, think content delivery for money, think course delivery, think creating gateways for those who don't have credit cards or Pay-pal to places that don't accept Bitcoin. All of these things which Bitcoin accelerated at until about 2017, Proof of Brain can be good at today.

Now what is the point of Proof of Brain? Okay, Hive Blockchain and crypto-economics with BTC inflation schedule. That's pretty neat. Having multiple front-ends is good for decentralization but people generally use one of two front ends to interact with the community: peakd.com and ecency.com. This is not good decentralization. People get less Leo for not using LeoFinance.io. You can imagine that the funds could go into adding value to a token when the founder has so much of it. This is the way it is in other tribes. It is a legitimate concern that the money is not going to some multi-signature fund though. The thing is there are no multi-signature wallets for Hive. So pob-fund also only has one controller.
Since people will get 12.5% more for posting in the old UI rather than mine, will I get more curation reward by the same amount? It seems to me I should encourage people to use https://proofofbrain.io rather the one I have been working on in a way but I will be allowing donations and people can encourage me to add development .
