Kathmandu Durbar Square is a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site. This place is also commonly known as Basantapur. Kathmandu is also the capital city of Nepal. The establishment of palace and temples here dates back to 3rd century. This place is basically inhabited by "Newari" caste people of Nepal. The people typically fed maize grains to pigeons at this place. This was the place where our past ancient Malla and Shah King used to have a meeting and take a walk around this palace, so it is also popularly known as Royal Courtyard.
