Marigold flowers are an important part of Hinduism culture and rituals. Not only marigold, many other flowers like lotus, jasmine, hibiscus and so on have their own significance in Hinduism. It is believed that by offering the flower to the god or goddess, one can obtain desire s/he has wished for.
Talking about this marigold flower, they are found in two different color varieties: one in yellow and other in orange-yellow (the one in the photo). Marigolds flower are considered a sacred and auspicious flower in Hindu festival of Tihar or Deepawali or Diwali or Tyohar. It is also known as the festival of light. People make garlands from this flower and decorate the house, street, temples and many other places. Another festival where this flower is used is during Saraswoti Puja. She is known as the goddess of learning and arts. Students and teachers worship them during this day wishing for their memory power improvement and enlightment.
