What you are referring to is GameFi, which is a hybrid of NFTs and the element of the blockchain embedded in playable form.
I think the GameFi concept became stunted. If you'll notice, all of the big timers in this field have integrated a gambling element to their core gameplay. All of the items that have value are graded each according to a hierarchy that ranges from common to rare, and the supply of that item corresponds to whether its the former or the latter. The blockchain exists simply to facilitate trade between players.
What I'm trying to say is that the mechanics are all 1:1 the SAME! Just dress up those vectors with fancy graphics and you're done. Is this GameFi model sustainable in the long run? I don't think so, they'd need a constant influx of players to prop up the economy's numbers up.
