XRP Whales Hold 68.5% of Supply at Highest Share Since November 2022
Plus: Jason Calacanis Urges Bitcoin Holders to Sell, BlackRock Leads Bitcoin ETF Inflows
Good Morning Lions,
XRP whale wallets now hold their biggest share of supply in nearly four years, and futures are doing most of the trading. I think that means a handful of wallets can push XRP harder than retail can, in either direction, frens. BUT, if those coins start moving onto exchanges, the accumulation story falls apart fast. Meanwhile Calacanis is telling holders to dump Bitcoin, and BlackRock's Bitcoin fund pulled in money anyway.
XRP Whales Hold Largest Supply Share Since 2022
TL;DR: Wallets holding at least 10 million XRP control about 46.87 billion tokens, roughly 68.5% of supply, per Santiment data. That is the highest whale share since November 2022. Futures volume is running nearly six times spot volume, with XRP trading near $1.30.
Jason Calacanis Urges Bitcoin Holders to Sell
TL;DR: Angel investor Jason Calacanis told Bitcoin holders to sell and move into AI in an October 27 post on X, Crypto Briefing reported. Calacanis called Bitcoin a "dead network" and said BTC could revisit its 2026 low of $57,000.
BlackRock Leads Bitcoin ETF Inflows
TL;DR: US spot Bitcoin ETFs drew about $110.3 million in net inflows on October 26, Crypto Briefing reported. Spot Ether ETFs lost roughly $88.6 million on the same day. BlackRock's funds led the flows on both sides.
Grayscale Credits Zcash Developer Funding
TL;DR: Grayscale's October 2026 report credits Zcash's practice of routing 20% of block rewards to development with nearly a decade of privacy-tech progress, according to Crypto Briefing. The analysis focuses on protocol governance and ties ZEC's privacy work to the share of mining rewards set aside for builders.
Cypherpunk Builds Zcash Mining Fleet
TL;DR: Cypherpunk Technologies launched a Zcash mining operation on August 18, 2026, Crypto Briefing reports. The fleet runs about 4.2 GSol/s, roughly 18% of network hashrate. The company is targeting 20% of hashrate by late October.
Bitquery Measures Pump.fun Buying Speed
TL;DR: Bitquery data reported by CryptoSlate shows similar shares of new Pump.fun coins drew an outside buy within roughly 1.3 seconds across Solana's earlier block-time cuts. The share came in at 53% in the earlier sample and 52% in the later one. The samples end October 7, before Solana's final 200ms block-time cut on October 9.
The Verge Tracks Data Center Backlash
TL;DR: Opposition to data centers has become a significant issue in US political campaigns across several states, The Verge reported via Crypto Briefing. The concerns cited include electricity use, water, costs, noise and local control over new projects.
Bitcoin sits at $79,798, a long way above the $57,000 low Calacanis is pointing at. If Bitcoin ETFs start losing money the way the Ether funds did, his call gets a lot louder. Until then it's one angel investor against the money going into BlackRock's fund 🦁 — Khal
