Hello members of CCC (I still haven't seen for what that abbreviation is lol)

#ccc is "newbies helping newbies" with 12 SP or more upvotes, comments and interaction with other bloggers' posts.

This is an information post about your #CCC tag use, since I was "accused" of "taking a chair that is taken".
This is my answer to that, and just to be clear, I only intend this to be purely informational, even if the tone is a bit mockingly ;)

Hmm... I sense some misconception here.
So let's talk some basics (just general, not this case).

There is no official rule at all about using or not using a tag.
There is no one who polices any usage.
The only exception I know about is the introduceyourself tag, and that is community based.

"The chair is taken" is a conceptually wrong statement, since there is an infinite amount of chairs and nobody has the right to say that any chair is theirs.

(To tell me I sat on a chair I didn't even know was there is a bit of a funny picture I admit.)

And if you wanted a tag only for you, then you should have chosen one that is at least 6 characters long, because there is a shitton of 3 character abbreviations, a lot with 4 chars and a few with 5 chars.

And in regards to this single incident, if you claim a tag for you, maybe you should try putting it into google first, because then you would have found the Wikipedia entry saying

The Chaos Computer Club (CCC) is Europe's largest association of hackers[1] with 7,700 registered members.[2] (founded in 1981)

and maybe have chosen a different one than an abbreviation that is known to dozens of millions of people for something else.

I myself have used CCC (not as tag but in text) 2 years ago in this article: https://steemit.com/news/@lennstar/you-pay-with-facial-recognition-you-neighbor-might-too-his-bills-with-your-face as even the shitty steemit search found.

CCC is also used for the CCC's yearly Chaos Communication Congress, the biggest hacker event in Europe

If you are interested you can watch videos from the presentations here: https://media.ccc.de/ (most english)

So what I want to say?

If you intend to continue using the CCC tag, you are guaranteed to have a few CCC tagged posts referencing to this club. If you continue using this tag or choosing a new one is totally up to you, just realize you don't own it.

That's all I will say about this topic.
