When you described that the boy was not able to stand on his legs, I thought about appendicitis, which does not match the fact that the stomach was swollen. Of course this was just a wild guess from the little I know, and I am not a medical doctor (which is probably a good thing ;) ).

Coming back to kidney disease, is the dialysis expected to be temporary? In other words, can we heal from such a disease? Thanks in advance for answering and sorry for the probably naive question.
