COVID may indeed affect us much more than what we can think of. Many people are found to suffer a long time after being infected (this is what is called "long COVID", that is not even considered as a disease in some cases!) and others who where healthy took a lot of time to fully recover. We are still in the learning phase (whatever politics may want to say on this matter) and who know what science will find in the following months/years.
