Hi peeps!
I know it is weird to share about Christmas in the middle of the summer. However, the weather now is so hot that only the memories of the winter can cool down the heat a little bit. Last Christmas, I spent my whole winter break in Germany with a friend who studies there. During that time, we spent a few days discovering Munich, which is one of the most flourishing cities in the country.
At the time we visited Munich, the pandemic restrictions were not removed and we had to do a lot of rapid tests in order to be allowed to come inside certain tourist attractions. Each attraction has different requirements so make sure you check them in advance. Besides, the rapid test in Munich was offered free of charge and the result would be sent via email after 20 minutes , which made all of these tests more convenient and affordable.

Munich is a great place for food lovers because the city has a lot of good restaurants in both German and Vietnamese cuisine. However, we were too hungry to take photos of the food 😂 . Nevertheless, I still can give you some restaurants' names. For Munich' specialities, you should come to "Ratskeller", they serve very delicious Bavarian cuisine and beer. The restaurant is located in the center of Marienplatz, so it is easy to find. If you are fond of Vietnamese food, I recommend "Hanoi Phố". Their dishes are authentic, and the owner is also very kind. Besides, if you are a big fan of milk tea like me, you must try Ding tea. They have the best tapioca balls and milk tea. I was so addicted to their drinks that I always had 2 cups of milk tea a day when I was there.

I have to say that Munich is more beautiful and crowded than other cities of Germany that I've been to, especially at Christmas time. All the corners of the city are decorated with Christmas trees, lights, and ornaments. Besides, Munich is synonymous with its Christmas market since it is always considered as one of the most beautiful one. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus situation, the market in 2021 was cancelled. I was disappointed when I read that news, but then the city's beauty really cheered me up. I fancy all the architecture there.

My favourite attraction in Munich is Nymphenburg palace and park. The place was built as a summer residence to celebrate the birth of Max Emanuel, who was the heir of the Bavarian Elector Ferdinand Maria. It then became the summer residence of the Barvarian family for 300 years (retrieved from https://www.schloss-nymphenburg.de/englisch/palace/). I am not an expert to tell you about the palace's architectural style. From my perspective, it is an elegant and lavish palace. The admission fee is 8 euros and you can bring your student card to have a discount price.

I will definitely come back to Munich someday, and hopefully I can experience the Christmas market next time. If you are going to have a trip in Germany, I would highly recommend Munich - my favourite German city
That is the end of today's blog. Thank you and see you next time!
