Sally with her little ginger boy, Dexter. We wanted him to be a fierce hunter of rats and mice, hence we named him after the serial killer in the series. He has turned out to be an unenthusiastic hunter, but a beautiful boy anyway, very talkative.
Sally was brought home by my son, something he does on a regular basis ... most of our pets are his rescued orphans. She is a tiny Calico, and had 2 kittens, one of which was deformed and sadly didn't survive. Dexter has a form of cat leukemia but seems perfectly normal, just loses a lot of fur on his lower back during the summer. He is much bigger than Sally now ... she remains a petite girl despite eating everything in sight.
The two of them, although mother and son, barely tolerate one another now. Dexter mainly lives upstairs, while Sally prefers downstairs, closer to our bedroom. I love my cats, and will probably become one of those mad old cat ladies when I'm really old and living in a little room somewhere! (God forbid!)
