Hello, Hive Friends all over the world!

I was supposed to have a Saturday coffee date with one of my girlfriends here in Bulacan. Since she lives in another town, we had already planned our meet-up and were looking forward to spending time together over coffee. However, early in the morning, she called me and said she would not be able to make it. Their area was experiencing an unexpected water interruption that would last for almost the whole day. Because of that, she needed to stay home and prioritize some household tasks. We agreed to cancel our coffee date and simply reschedule it for another day.

Since my plans changed, I decided to spend the day at home and do my usual Saturday routine. For breakfast, I fried the leftover rice from last night's dinner. My viand was the leftover squid in a can that I had saved. Of course, I also prepared a cup of coffee to complete my simple breakfast. It was a good way to start my day. While having my breakfast, a delivery rider was calling out my neighbor's name, but she went to the market and has not yet returned. Since no one was left on their house, I received her parcel for the meantime and has given to her eventually when she came back from her errands outside..

After eating, I prepared the water for laundry time. I washed my clothes while Cardo was peacefully sleeping. Once I finished washing and rinsing everything, I placed fabric conditioner in a pail and soaked the clothes for about 15 minutes. After that, I hung them outside to dry. With the laundry done, I carried two gallons of mineral water from outside to inside the gate. They had just been delivered after being refilled, so I wanted to put them in their proper place right away.

Later, I opened my laptop and decided to run a full scan using Windows Security. I realized that it had probably been around two months since my last full scan because I usually only do quick scans. While waiting for the scan to finish, I went outside to check on the chickens in the backyard. Sometimes I worry that their ropes get tangled around the bamboo sticks, so I like checking on them from time to time. Before heading out, I noticed Cardo lying near the door, enjoying the cool air from the electric fan.

When I returned inside, the Windows Security scan had already finished. After that, I spent time working on some of my online side hustles. Even though it was a rest day, I still wanted to grind a little because every small cent earned is a great help. Small earnings may not seem like much, but they add up over time and contribute to my daily expenses. Of course, I opened Ecency, too, to check on interesting posts. I also watched a drama on FreeReels using my second phone which I usually use to watch drama.

A few hours later, it was time for my afternoon merienda. The rolling bakery passed by our area, and I bought two pieces of pineapple bread and two pieces of ensaymada. To make my snack even better, I prepared my second cup of coffee for the day. The bread was delicious, and the coffee made the afternoon feel even more relaxing. After finishing my merienda, I brought my coffee to my workstation and continued working on my online extra-income activities for the rest of the afternoon.

Although my coffee date did not happen, I still managed to have a productive and meaningful Saturday. Sometimes our plans do not go the way we expect, but that does not mean the day is wasted. Between household chores, checking on the chickens, enjoying two cups of coffee, and working on my side hustles, I was able to accomplish several things and make good use of my time. Hopefully, my friend and I will be able to enjoy our coffee date very soon.

Thank you for reading! How do you usually spend your Saturdays when your plans suddenly change? ☕😊
