I’ve had a lot of teachers in my school life, but there are two I’ll never forget and honestly, for completely opposite reasons.
The first one was my technology teacher back in junior high,She left an impression on me, but not for positive reasons. To be honest, she was probably the worst example of a teacher I’ve ever had. What she seemed to know best was cursing. I never once saw her pray, and if a student made a mistake, she wouldn’t correct you. Nope, she would just call you names. And not normal names, she had this whole collection of biblical names for insults, like Lot's wife, Jezebel. You could hear her shouting things like, “Hey, Lot’s wife, I don’t think you can pass your exam,” or “It will be difficult for you to move to the next class.” When you heard that, just know a student just made mistakes.
Attendance in her class was mandatory, and if you missed even one day, you would be punished. She was so unforgettable that we just called her “The Cursed Woman.” Honestly, I can hardly remember her real name, but the nickname stuck perfectly. She was a terrible teacher, but she definitely left a mark on me, mostly as an example of what not to be and honestly, she made me hate teaching job because I don't want to be like her.
Now, the second teacher I can’t forget is completely the opposite. He was my first mathematics teacher in senior high, we called him Uncle Lekan, and he was such an amazing teacher. Right from the beginning, he made math something I actually looked forward to. He is approachable, and a natural at teaching. He made mathematics enjoyable and easy to understand. His teaching methods were simple but effective, which made me start loving a subject that I once found intimidating, and I can say because of him, many of us started to enjoy the subject.
The funny part? He wasn’t even a permanent teacher, he was a PTA teacher. But you would never know. He connected with the class, made everyone laugh, and encouraged us to do our best. Even though he only taught us for two terms, the whole class loved him, and I still remember his lessons clearly.
Looking back, these two teachers shaped my school life in very different ways. One showed me exactly what a teacher should never do, while the other showed me how inspiring and fun learning can be. Both left a mark on me, just in very different ways. I’ll never forget either of them, one made me cautious, and the other made me love learning.
Thanks for checking on my blog and have a wonderful day
