Talyer is a Filipino word that means "auto repair shop." This is located in the town of La Trinidad, just one ride away from the city of Baguio. This was one weekend where we went and checked it out.
It was a hot afternoon and although the it was a gloomy sky, you still can feel the heat but when under the shade, it's okay. It's that kind of weather.
I have seen this posted by one of my fb friends and I saved it for reference in case we were in town. Luckily, that day arrived so we headed there. We can come here anytime we like but it's the busyness of the road that disappoints. It took us more than an hour to get there because of how slow traffic was moving. We could have been there in 20 minutes.
Also, we didn't see the signage of the place right away. It was so small and it was at the third floor of the building. That's why we missed it. I have a knowledge that it is within a certain area as per the map but not the exact location. We had to walk back from where we stopped.
The cafe occupies the whole third floor of the building as it should because you get a view of the part of the town, Since it is located in a residential area, you also see more of the houses around it.
The place is spacious and natural light does the most of the lighting because almost one side of the cafe has glass windows. This makes the cafe bright and the atmosphere pleasant. What's noticeable are the red tables and chairs in front of the counter and it's one of the things you notice right away as step into the landing.
Their menu is written on a board on a wall next to the counter. We ordered mango and Nutella crepe, cappuccino for my partner and caramel frappe for me. It didn't take long for our orders to arrive. We chose to sit by the windows rather than on the terrace. We wanted to avoid the smokes from the vehicle below. Besides, by the time we got there, my head is throbbing that by time we decided to go home, it was pretty uncomfortable. It got in the way for me to enjoy the place and what we had that time. It was just not my day.
I did enjoy the crepe although it was way too sweet for me. I guess it was the Nutella that did that and then coupled with ripe mango and two scoops of vanilla ice cream then I made the mistake of ordering frappe instead of coffee. Too much sugar I know. I couldn't finish the frappe.
I wish I could talk about the place more and our orders.

I do remember that the staff are welcoming and accommodating which is a plus. I remember going around the place taking some photos while waiting for our orders. They do have an area where one can perform. The neon sign was off that time and one of the staff was kind enough to go turn it on while I was taking photos.
The name of the cafe is Talyer. What gave the cafe that auto mechanic shop vibe are the different sets of tools hanging on the wall and the table number they give you while waiting for your order which is shaped like a wrench and I do find it cool. Also the toilet signage depicts a male and female mechanics.
All in all, it was nice experience. Good customer service, ambience and food and drinks. It's definitely a place we will go back to.
