This is going to be my first Hive Power Up Day and I'm ecstatic that finally I can join. I have read about power up day in another platform and again last month from other users here in Hive.
What I usually do is whenever I log in to Hive and visit my wallet, I would redeem whatever earnings I have accumulated and then when I deemed there is enough to power up, then I power up. I don't collect that much Hive.
This month, thanks to the generosity of @johannpiber through the Engagement League by
@abh12345, I was able to accumulate enough Hive to meet the minimum required for power up day.
As I have said in my previous post, 12 is my lucky number. If you don't know what the Engagement League is, it is all about engagement. Just mention in this post by Asher that you want to join in the league. This is about interaction with other fellow Hivers. The more you engage, the more you earn points which would then be tallied every week.
For the past two weeks, I managed to place in the 12th spot. There are generous sponsors who will reward others who have not placed in the top 10.
So without further ado, here is my before and after power up.
Aside from powering up, I do plan on helping others too. For now, I will just power up.

As what was mentioned in the post of @hivebuzz, here are the reasons why you should power up:
Why participate in the Hive PUD
- The first reason is to have fun and get a badge!
- And here are some other great reasons to power-up your HIVE:
- Strengthen your influence on the blockchain with stronger votes on content, proposals and witnesses.
- Earn more curation rewards. The more Hive Power you have, the more you can potentially earn back
- Earn "interest" by holding Hive Power. You will also earn HIVE passively at about 3% per year of what you currently have powered up so the more HIVE you have, the more you can earn from just holding!
You still have enough time to power up. Check out the counter by hivebuzz. You still have 22 hours or so left as of this writing.
Hive Power Up Day happens every first of the month UTC date and time. Be sure to check out your time zone before powering up.
Cheers!
Edit:
So after powering up, I made this blog. Apparently it was detected right away by hivebuzz that I powered up. I saw the comment of hivebuzz in my previous post. I went ahead and checked out my badge and now I have one badge!
I'm just so happy about this. It surely made my day.
