We have some updates on our Blockchain and Music Review Article, Newcomer Kit, Amalgam, and three potential project ideas.
Our #Blockchain and #Music Review Article ("Review") focusing on blockchain solutions and adoption issues in the music industry will be available for public comments within the coming week.
We will post a link to it on Medium, Steemit, Bitcointalk, and LinkedIn.
We wanted to open the Review for public comments so that our Review would have input from and reflect the needs and concerns of major stakeholders in this intersection.

The Review will be available for public comments for 14 days (2 weeks). After the public comment period is over, we will revise the Review based on the comments we received and our editorial guidelines.
Hopefully, through this process, we can create a more informative and appealing Review that anyone can use to familiarize themselves with blockchain's applicability in the music industry.
Before moving onto Amalgam and our new project ideas, we wanted to discuss our Newcomer Kit.
The #Newcomer #Kit is a comprehensive, straight-to-the-point, overview for newcomers to cryptocurrency, DLT, and the associated communities ("Space").
The Newcomer Kit will help any newcomer become accustomed to this space and the wacky, sometimes non-intuitive, even redundant (cough cough, that's a blockchain) ways to navigate it.
We are also making the Newcomer Kit available for public comments so that the Newcomer Kit has the requisite material to sufficiently inform and guide a newcomer in the Space.
The Newcomer Kit will be available for public comments for 10 days (1 week and 3 days). After the public comment period is over, we will revise the Newcomer Kit based on your comments and our editorial guidelines.
The Newcomer Kit will be published shortly thereafter and will be available to all members of the public.

We are working on our Amalgam issue for September to October. This will be our first issue of Amalgam and it will primarily focus on decentralization and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) news and projects.
We hope to have a rough copy completed by October 7th, with the tentative first issue deadline for October 23th.

One of the nice things about having many creative members is that we are always thinking up new ideas to further decentralized governance models and ways to increase mainstr[eam/eet] adoption of distributed ledger technology.
In the past week, we have thought of three potential ideas, all with a blockchain implementation included, to promote decentralization and mainstream adoption.
Our first project idea is to create a community wireless mesh network, primarily for members.
At the ideation phase, we are brainstorming how to set one up (legal, infrastructure, networking, equipment, etc.) and if there are any open source guides for us to follow.
Once we can cement the idea, we should have a couple proposals submitted for member approval.
Our second project ideal is to create a decentralized social network, primarily for members.
At the ideation phase, we are thinking of a number of ways to accomplish such a network.
One proposal that has stood out is using: 1) a ActivityPub and WebTorrent protocol; 2) File storage and computing power sharing protocol; and 3) Privacy and Encryption tools included such as VPNs and Proxies.
Our third project idea is to create a decentralized autonomous cooperative association (DACA), primarily for members.
We are currently researching existing decentralized autonomous organizations/communities (DAO/DAC) for guidance on this matter.
One proposal that has stood out is creating a DACA blockchain, where all corporate and member functions can occur, that interacts with off-chain behavior, and where our services and products can be provided to the general public.
After completing a review of the costs and benefits of all of these proposals, they will be submitted to members for their approval. If approved, the project ideas will move onto the next stage of development.

At Ledgerback, we are constantly working on promoting decentralization (e.g., governance models, technologies, community initiatives) and mainstre[eam/eet] adoption strategies for DLT.
To achieve our goals, we research DLT implementations, decentralization, and other related topics.
