This week at Ledgerback, we are slowly but surely making progress on our journey to usher in the next generation of decentralized autonomous entities and gain a deeper understanding of the distributed ledger space.
We have been working hard to finish and issue our temporary website, brand, and our weekly summary production for Trinary.

Last week, we issued out our prototype logo for your viewing pleasure. We hope you guys like it so far!
Now we are moving onto the second round of brand development and have been brainstorming ideas like crazy!
In one of our discussions, Russ raised a poignant question:
"What is our Stork's name?"
This was a question that we had not considered before and it completely changed the whole dynamic on how we should be developing our brand.
Now we are starting to brainstorm possible names for our Stork and we wanted to ask our readers what possible name(s) our Stork should be called?
Brand development has been our major focus so far, but we have also started to develop our production plan for Trinary's Weekly Summaries.
We posted two samples on our SoundCloud for your review and we are planning to post another sample soon.

Certificates, certificates, certificates …. We have been pulling our hair out trying to figure out what format we should use for our membership certificates.
We know it has been awhile since we focused on them, but our membership certificates are documents proving that an individual is a Ledgerback member and thereby entitled to all the benefits and duties therewith.
Finally… (big breath), we have decided to issue our Ledgerback Membership Certificates as a ERC-20 token on the Ethereum Blockchain.
Our Membership Certificate is the Ledgerback Co-op Network Certificate (LRNG) at contract address 0xf24083A3d962498bC95FEf69C94083013c1044F5.

All of our members will be issued a membership certificate in compliance with the LRNG Token Transfer Policy and LRNG Token Transfer Procedure (if you want to read them, join up!).

Cryptocurrency vs. Blockchain
A cryptocurrency and a blockchain are very much intertwined but two distinct concepts.
A cryptocurrency is a native digital bearer asset that is created on a blockchain which may or may not have any specific function that is secured by cryptographic means (e.g., Public Key Infrastructure).
For example, Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency because it was created and solely exist on the Bitcoin blockchain and is secured by Public Key Infrastructure.
Furthermore, a cryptocurrency can be thought of as a blockchain and payment system use-case.
While on the other hand, a blockchain is a type of distributed ledger technology principally built on top of three technologies: 1) cryptography; 2) peer-to-peer (P2P) networks; and 3) a protocol.
With these base technologies in mind, a blockchain is an immutable and irreversible digital ledger which allows a distributed network of computers (i.e., nodes) to verify the authenticity of transactions without the need for a central authority.
A cryptocurrency is built on and requires a blockchain to function, while a blockchain itself does not require a cryptocurrency to function.
There is the difference between the two if you did not know before (obligatory "The more you know" reference).
