It is currently not possible to optimize steemit posts for search engines using meta tags.
Add optional input fields to the post submission form that will be used for the meta tags on post pages:
Providing accurate well-structured data for search results to Google will help Google rank steemit pages higher in search results and that will bring more visitors to the steemit.com web site. Good titles with the right keywords and well written descriptions that are defined in the meta tags help search rank algorithms decide whether to rank a web site higher. Steemit.com already has a head start on other web sites because of its size and amount of high quality content. This can be that small push that puts thousands of steemit posts on the 1st page of search results.
One of the ranking factors for pages to move up in the search results is how many times people click on a result once it’s displayed (CTR). There are way to optimize meta titles and meta descriptions to increase CTR. Doing this with actual post titles and first lines of content is not recommended because the writing becomes targeted to search engines and not natural to read.
