This artwork began with something simple—my fascination with snakes. Ever since I was young, I have always been drawn to wildlife, especially reptiles. I studied their anatomy to understand their structure, then allowed my imagination to shape the final creature rather than copying any single reference.
The rainbow colors come from one of my childhood memories. I remember playing in the water with my friends and watching sunlight scatter across the surface, creating beautiful rainbow reflections. That memory stayed with me, and years later it naturally became the inspiration for the colors covering every scale of this imagined snake.
Rather than following a fixed color palette, I let intuition guide each decision, allowing the artwork to develop naturally as it grew. Every color and pattern was imagined by hand, making this creature entirely my own interpretation.
Rather than depicting a real forest, I created a natural setting that feels timeless—a place where this imagined creature could belong. The environment supports the subject without taking attention away from it, allowing the snake to remain the heart of the composition.
This piece was created on A3 paper using mixed traditional media, primarily colored pencils, together with ink and graphite to build layers of color, texture, and detail.
"The Venom-Glider" is the first artwork in my Prismatic Prowlers series, where I explore imagined wildlife through observation, memory, and imagination.
