El Salvador Bitcoin Adoption is not very high
Since El Salvador adopted Bitcoin as legal tender, there has been, unexpectedly, still a very low adoption of Bitcoin in that country. Whether this has to do with not wanting to, not understanding, or not being able to… I cannot and will not make any statements about that. But I was somewhat surprised to read it.
Despite the fact that things don't seem to be going so great in El Salvador, the president is certainly not giving up. He continues to buy Bitcoin. And the country now owns about 1800 Bitcoins. Which isn't exactly bad. Imagine having 1800 Bitcoins!
Honduras on the brink of accepting Bitcoin
But it looks like El Salvador will no longer be the only country where you can use Bitcoin as legal tender. The second country appears to be on the brink of accepting Bitcoin as legal tender. And that's not what many people expected, Paraguay or Venezuela. It seems that Honduras will become the second country in the world to accept Bitcoin as a legal tender. Be honest, had you thought of Honduras?
I'm really curious if this will go through, but the rumors are strong. And if true, then in the president's words they are "escaping a US dollar hegemony".
Hopefully, what this will entail is more Bitcoin adoption, but at the same time, regulation will also be further accelerated and perhaps even strengthened. At least that's what I certainly expect.
All in all, I think it's interesting developments and will certainly continue to follow this. What's your opinion?

The New Contest
