Time for an update on all things LBI. It's been ages since I did a full update post, almost two months. Here is that last full update so you can check back and see what has been changed over those two months.

New dividend and LP rewards systems.

LBI is a relatively low cost project already, we had one dividend bot that we paid 10 HBD per month to the operator to run for us. The other expense was on BEE to renew liquidity pool reward contracts. This is a variable cost, and could have been reduced by making the renewals a much longer time period. However we didn't have the HBD funds to make the pools carry an enticing APR over a long renewal period.

So, I've had some help from gwajnberg@gwajnberg and Claude to build a new, "free" solution to eliminate these costs.

New Dividend bot.

Each week we send out 40% of our weekly income as a dividend to all holders. The bot to do this was costing us 10 HBD per month. Claude has helped us code up a new bot, that runs for free on Github. Basically, it reads all LBI wallet balances, and then pulls the Liquidity pool data and allocates those tokens in pools back to the positions owners. Once it comes up with a total for each wallets LBI balance (tokens listed for sale on the order book are not included), it distributed the balance of SWAP.HBD in the new lbi-divs@lbi-divs wallet. Each week I manually trigger this workflow, once I have split up the funds from the weekly income pot (lbi-income@lbi-income) The minimum required to receive a div is 1 LBI now. All LBI wallets that hold and LBI tokens (lbi-bbb@lbi-bbb, lbi-cent@lbi-cent, lbi-alive@lbi-alive, lbi-three@lbi-three) are excluded from the distribution.

This has been working flawlessly so far, all the calculations have been spot on, and it seems pretty successful.

New Pool Rewards bot.

Once the dividend bot was working as intended, we modified the code to build a bot that sends out rewards every day to LBI's liquidity providers. The drain on our funds from regularly buying BEE to renew pool contracts was painful, and I was keen to find an alternative. This bot reads all the LP information in the same way the div bot does, and then generates a total of LBI held in all the pools per wallet.

For the distribution amount, we did something a little different. Each week we allocate 40% of our income to LP rewards. This was then managed on an ad hoc basis, manually adding to pool contracts from time to time. Now, the rewards are sent daily as a small portion of a total HBD balance (0.25%) The bot reads all HBD forms in the wallet (liquid HBD, HBD in savings, and liquid SWAP.HBD), totals that and sends 0.25% out to liquidity providers each day.

This new system is so much more sustainable than the old method. The pool of funds will grow over time, as our 40% income split is a bit more than what goes out each day. Also, the HBD in savings will earn interest, so the HBD balance in the wallet is slowly and sustainably growing, meaning a gradually increasing amount gets sent out to reward liquidity providers. Currently, most pools are double dipping, with the old reward contracts still in place and still with reward funds. As existing contracts expire, they will not be replaced. We have already seen this with the LEO/LBI pool.

Importantly, this bot also excludes the LBI owned wallets and positions. The latest run, which happened around 17 hours ago, distributed 0.6956 SWAP.HBD to 51 wallets, 17415 LBI were eligible for a reward, with the average position being 341.471 LBI per wallet.

The biggest downside for this method is that the rewards will not appear for casual observers looking at liquidity pools and rewards contracts. To someone looking at LBI pools, they will appear to not have any incentive.

APR - Using this most recent reward run, with 0.6956 SWAP.HBD split between 17415 LBI in pools. The value of those LBI tokens is 1,097 HBD currently. The annualised return at 0.6956 per day is 253.894 HBD. Yield on those LBI is therefore 23.14%. Importantly this only covers the LBI portion of the pools. It ignores the other side of the pool. So the real yield on the total position is 11.57%. Now this is lower than where most of the pools have been positioned, but it is more sustainable. The pot of funds will slowly grow. For example this week, we added 7.022 SWAP.HBD to the wallet. Sending out 0.7 roughly each day the wallet grew by 2.1 HBD across the week. Add in interest on the 240 HBD in savings (close to 0.5 HBD per week) and the total in the wallet should steadily grow.

Anyway, I hope all that makes sense, if anything is unclear, hit me up in the comments. This should have all been in a stand alone post, but I've been real life busy and have not had the time to get a proper post out. Sorry for the wall of text.

Now for the regular LBI update. I'll be brief as there is already a big chunk of text to consume above

Here are the prices used at cutoff time for this report:

Assets:

token 4oct26.png

With the last report being 2 months ago, comparisons are interesting tbh. We have a lot more HP, a lot more BTC, and no LEO anymore.

lbi-eds@lbi-eds

eds 4oct26.png

We don't have EDSD anymore, this got removed when it was looking like HBD was going to de-peg. Hive has stabilized since then and is a little healthier.

lbi-dab@lbi-dab

dab 4oct26.png

I've started slowly staking some DAB again, just 5 per day from our growth. The wallet has done it's thing, and continues to grow over time. No updates from the project, but it all still works as intended.

lbi-three@lbi-three

three 4oct26.png

This is by far my favorite wallet we have currently. The consistent IL in the HSBIDAO/THREE liquidity pool is awesome. We have added funds to this pool over the last couple of months, but it grows steadily of it's own accord also. That pool is in my opinion possibly the best investment opportunity on HIVE right now. In order to show how good it is, I'll leave our position untouched until the next update I do, so we can see clearly how much the position has gained in value.

lbi-cent@lbi-cent

cent 4oct26.png

A busy wallet, with lots of pool positions fluctuating around. The key holding here is the CENT stake. This generates a nice chunk of weekly income, conveniently paid to us as SWAP.HBD. I'm working on steadily building up the smaller pool positions, just from daily income. Also growing a SHORT stake, which also pays a weekly staking reward. Lot's of pieces to this wallet, but it generates strong income for us.

lbi-alive@lbi-alive

alive 4oct26.png
I've shifted some random LP positions from around the wallets into this wallet, and add to them from income occasionally. The wallet is still too small for us to pull any meaningful income out, but it supports our partnership with the ALIVE project by seeding the ALIVE/LBI and ALIVE/HIVE pools.

lbi-bbb@lbi-bbb

bbb 4oct26.png

Our last asset wallet. We absorbed a solid amount of selling and currently hold 762 LBI sitting in a sell order. The LP positons are basically helping to maintain solid liquidity in those pools.

Totals:

totals 4oct26.png

Two months ago, each LBI was worth $0.047, and the total fund was $8,962. So we have recovered nicely from those lows. The HIVE comparison is pretty stable really, which is unsurprising as much of our fund is now HIVE or HIVE equivalents. The LEO comparison is telling, over the last two months each LBI has gone from being worth 9.42 LEO to 15.318, showing how poor LEO has performed and that our shift away was the right move.

assets 4oct26.png

12% of our fund is now in BTC. 0% is LEO. We have a much smaller amount of HBD than last update, and a lot more HIVE.

Income

income 4oct26.png
Income has grown a bit over the last 2 months, with 12.493 the total in the last report, and 17.554 HBD total this time. A lot of that is as a result of the HIVE price being a bit better than it was back then. Some of it however is genuine growth, most notably from the THREE, CENT wallets and from HSBIDAO contributing more than HBD interest did back then.

dist 4oct26.png

$7.03 sent out for the weekly dividends at a yield of 2.53% APR. This is well up on the yields we were tracking at previously, mostly sub 2%. 21.675 LBI burned for the week.

Liquidity

Currently there are 20,594 LBI in pools. Here is the reward tracker so you can see for yourself how each pools rewards stack up. Remember some pools contracts (LEO and SWAP.HIVE) have already expired, so those pools will have lower total yields for a period until all contracts run out.

There is a huge update for you all to digest. I'm off to take a nap now...
