I remember the day I finally joined Facebook. It was 3 years after it opened up to the public and everyone at my school was using it. One of my fellow students told me to join so I could stay with the times, creep on other friends and potential soulmates, so I did.
I uploaded a photo of a drowsy version of my self to see three or four likes and I was hooked.
It's something about human psychology that makes us want and NEED that other people show a digital affection for us. It's something that brings more people to send status updates to fill the addiction of acceptance, of being needed or at least be heard and noticed.
Which brings me to Steem. The reason why I believe strongly in this platform is not only because you get accepted, recognized and loved, but because you'll also get paid for it. Get paid to tell the world about the things you care about! It's next level affirmation.
I've only been here for about a day. I am thinking about how I can share my passions, my wants and my needs; not just because I personally think it's important, but because I will get validated through upvotes and then rewarded for sharing these thoughts.
I hope to continue to write, engage and provoke thoughts amongst everyone here. But for now I'll leave you with this:
As the Calvin Harris song goes: "I want you to breathe me, let me be your heir, let me roam your body freely, no inhibition, no fear, how deep is your love? Is it like the ocean? What devotion; are you? How deep is your love? Is it like nirvana, hit me harder! Again; how deep is your love?"
So, how deep is your love?
Peak my interest, get engaged, provoke me!
