This is a beautiful post, @barski. It instantly brought back a flood of memories from my own childhood in Denmark, growing up in a post-war social housing complex called "Herlev Huse."
My father built a chicken coop from scratch in our backyard, and tending to those hens in the freezing winters built my raw work ethic. It actually sparked my very first micro-business as a kid—saving up money from paper routes and selling copied computer games to buy an incubator, raise my own chicks, and sell eggs to neighbors.
That unique analog "time capsule" gave me the reality and the space to become the independent thinker, musician, and creator I am today.
