I started this using Titanium White, Payne's Grey, and some medium just swirling paint around over a black gessoed canvas making marks until the profile of that figure appeared. Everything else followed. Still plenty more to go probably. Also trying to decide if I want to glaze some colors in or leave it monochrome.
