Less scientific consultants
US President Trump appears to be less valuable than his predecessor, Obama, to seek scientific advice.

In the White House, there is a group of experts working in the office for science and technology strategies. Under Obama, more than 100 people were employed there. They advised the President on issues such as the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, the fight against cancer and the commercial use of drones. Under Trump, only 35 are working in the office. The subdivision for science has been unoccupied since the end of June.
The Office for Science and Technology Strategies has been in the White House for more than 40 years.
