Well, as much as those coins are based on debt, I think the relevance of this for the value of the coin might be better or worse depending on whom you ask about it. Also, the dollar being minted by a private institution doesn't really help the situation either... The trust part of the Euro is generally better taken care of by the foundation being the common need for currency instead of basically greed.
