In the summer of 2019, we decided to go on a short trip to Italy. Since we didn't have a car at that time, we decided to take a bus and went to Venice, Verona and Rome. We really enjoyed our time there but now I'm dreaming of road tripping through the whole country cause I think there are so many beautiful and interesting places to see. I think Italy is a country that has it all, stunning mountains, great sea coast, rich history, culture and the best cuisine in the world!

Venice is such a romantic and special place where you can just enjoy strolling through the city and getting lost in the streets.

The interesting thing about Venice is that there are no cars in the city center, only gondolas. Today, gondolas are being used only for tourism, but they were the main means of transport in the past.

After one day in Venice, we went to Gardaland, but I don't have any pics from there. The same day we decided to explore Verona, but we only had a few hours and it was already night.

The last part of our trip was saved for the capital city of Italy, Rome. I have to say that the first impression of Rome was not so great. We traveled from Verona by bus and when we got off the bus in Rome there was garbage everywhere and everything smelled really bad. Then we started walking towards the Colosseum and almost every street had an unpleasant smell and there was trash everywhere. I was really surprised by this, I didn't expect that the capital city of Italy is so dirty.

But we really didn't bother much, we came here to enjoy and have the best time.

Colosseum is really impressive to see, but we only saw it from the outside. The entrance tickets were too expensive for us and there were so many people there that we just didn't have time nor energy for that.

Near the Colosseum is the Roman Forum where are all the buildings, monuments and remains of ancient ruins.

A visit to Rome would not be complete without a visit to the smallest country in the world, Vatican. It has an area of only 0.44 km2 and a population of about 1000 inhabitants.

We tasted the best gelato there.

This was a cute and short trip to Italy and I can't wait to come back to explore the whole country. A few months of road tripping would be the dream come true! Most of all I want to see the Dolomites, Tuscany, Cinque Terre, Amalfi Coast and Sicily. 😊
