Outlast, a survival horror that gave us many scares - ENG/ESP
English
How are my Hiveans friends?
I hope you are doing well fellow gamers and friends of Hive. Today I bring you a review of a game that most of us have played at some point in our lives. A game that has given us more than one scare and has increased our adrenaline to 100%.
Outlast
For those who do not know Outlast, I present one of the best survival horror games. Despite the fact that the general public does not know it, it was and still is a very beloved game by fans of this genre.
Survival horror was born many years ago, but there have been few who have kept this genre at its peak. Titles like Project Zero, Dead Space (another game I love and will also review soon), Deadly Premonition have kept the genre alive. There are more current titles like "The Evil Within", but I haven't played it since I don't have the resources to do so hahaha (soon will be able to).
Those who know this game know what you suffer from the first moments of the story. Lots of adrenaline and suspense that practically never stops. For those who do not know it, here I leave the trailer and encourage you to play it, because it is really worth it friends.

In the story we are Miles Upshur, a journalist with all the desire to get the story of the century, so he travels to the abandoned sanatorium of Mount Massive. He enters it, unaware of all the horrors he will find, since years ago horrible experiments were done on the patients and there are still a few alive who want to satiate their anger.
An important fact my friends, our character cannot attack. This makes us completely vulnerable, since we can only run and hide. The only weapon we have with us is our video camera, which will serve us to record certain key moments of the story that will unlock notes from the protagonist. As you can see, the game has a lot of suspense and adrenaline due to our vulnerability.
And the most important thing my friends is that our camera has night vision, which will be essential to go through places with total darkness. This may remind us of the REC movies.
But my colleagues, the use of the camera's night vision is not unlimited hahaha. We require alkaline batteries that run out every time we turn on the night vision. It is possible to find these batteries lying around, but you have to look carefully. The most important thing is to save the use of batteries as much as possible.
One of the strong points of the game that keep the suspense and tension are the lighting and the sudden sounds. Believe me that more than once you will shit yourself with just a sound of ambience or something that appears in front of you, even if it is harmless hahaha.
The gameplay in the course of the story is based on going through the facilities in search of a way out. To advance we must solve puzzles based on objects, for example to open doors and continue advancing. We will repeatedly encounter many maniacs roaming the corridors and our task will be to overcome them without being seen, or in the worst case if they see us, run for our lives and hide until they lose us.
The chases are one of the parts of the game that give more adrenaline and anxiety. Even our character when he sees that there is danger nearby, starts breathing faster and panting. They make us feel really anxious in this game.
Once you advance you realize that the real protagonists of the game are all these inmates living in the asylum. Sometimes we will find gore situations, as well as movements and dialogues of the patients. Some of them you will see them hitting each other or crying huddled on the floor, as well as others getting violent.
In the technical and visual aspects Outlast is not the best, but it offers a gameplay of 60FPS at 1080p quite stable. You can enjoy a good graphic experience without cuts.
The length of the story is about 5 hours. It is not a long game as you will see, but the short duration is worth it. It has 4 levels of difficulty, the last one is for an insane person who really wants to try if he can pass the game being an impossible challenge hahaha.
Without more to say my friends, I hope you liked this little review of this great game. If you get to try it, let me know in the comments what you thought of it. For those who have already played it, tell me your experiences.
Greetings to all!
