Finally I decided to try oil pastels that my husband brought as a gift from my relatives. I wouldn't buy it myself, but always wanted to try how it works.
Well, I still used color pencils for details and sketch, and after covered areas with oil pastels.
And now I understand that it's not my medium. Of course, if I practice it better the result should come as well better. But right now for me the colours are very bright and I can not make real shadows. Even the brown is very red by colour. Though I like red brown colours, but not this time, when I need something really dark. I can not cover one colour with another, they do not mix together, just I can choose free areas and add there.
Mistakes are really great problem. Even with watercolours that flow voluntarily I can make corrections much better.
So, the result is like this. I am very glad that I tried, but I still prefer watercolours and want to make one more portrait with same reference, but "in my style".
