My internet name is Lafalasidosi, or Lafa, for short. If you're curious about where that comes from, have a listen to Night Train by Philip Glass---there's a recurring line of solfege they sing. When I hear it, I think of the wheels of an old steam locomotive.
I'm from northern (central) BC, Canada. I studied piano performance for a little less than seven years under Andrew Furmanczyk (howtoplaypiano.ca, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpzgTNTgQsR9YYsyOm3k3KQ), and took my ARCT performer's exam in August of 2019. Haven't done the written exams yet; he and I were mistaken about whether they were co- or prerequisites. I received a pardon from the conservatory likely because I was working full time while preparing for the performer's. I'll have the letters after my name once I finish those (five more to go, should be done by December, wish me luck).
Presently I'm in college for power engineering, aka steam engineering, aka boiler operation. I decided on that trade after dropping out of a BSc in Math to work at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. I was there for a little more than a year, and let me tell you, that was more than enough. It seems like it'd be meaningful enough path, though I can't help signing up for online computer science/coding courses hoping that'll go somewhere. C'est la vie.
I thought to set up this Steemit on top of my website, https://lafalasidosi.com/, and my Youtube channel, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtn35SOMZRfgGHPxETgE8Iw, since Andrew once said nice things about this platform. Maybe one day I'll gain an audience.
