If you want to destroy a nation, destroy its education system. This has been going on for quite some time in the Western world, particularly in the US, to the point that we've become used to it.
Only the other day, the once-prestigious MIT cancelled a speech by a professor, guilty of supporting the outrageous ideas that students should be graded based on academic criteria, rather Diversity, Equity and Inclusion criteria. The DEI credo of the woke mobs that now rule American campuses.
This goes beyond free speech, that doesn't exist in the US anymore. It's about this DEI thing that basically preaches that any under-privileged, oppressed and otherwise marginalized deserves good grades. To put it simply, if a white heterosexual kid gets an A because he aced a test, a black kid deserves an A just the same. Because he's under-privileged and didn't get the same start in life. So he gets to cheat his way through school, because that's how equity works.
The problem here is what happens next. Both kids graduate. Become doctors, or engineers or teachers. Who would you prefer as a doctor? Would you trust the under-privileged one to perform brain surgery on you? Would you want the under-privileged teacher in charge of your third-grader's education when you know they didn't bother with math, because math is racist.
As long as this madness continues, the Western world will find itself riddled with hoards of DEI graduates who have trouble locating their own butt.
Meanwhile, countries like China, India, or indeed Russia, will produced highly-trained specialists who can actually do stuff. Stuff that bring progress, economic power, military power.
In the US, schools have quotas for all sorts of minorities. In China, high-school kids would gamble with their health studying for the notoriously-difficult college admission tests.
Who would you say has a better chance of coming up with a world-changing technology? The American entitled DEI graduate or the Chinese guy who studied day and night fro years?
It would be naive to believe that the woke epidemic ravaging American campuses is just a fad, just a bunch of hot-headed young people trying to find a cause. While you cannot exclude the contagion factor, this movement appears to be orchestrated and stoked by someone hell-bent on destroying the country's education and its future.
The question is who this someone might be? The obvious answer would be - America's enemies, right? Yet, the Democrats themselves champion the whole woke movement. Biden himself is fond of this equity term. Progressives and their Twitter army are quick to crucify anyone who dares criticize DEI, like the guy banned by MIT.
Looks like the enemy is already within the walls.
