Right after the media started talking about this movie, BBCNews published an article about some charity in Africa allegedly saving children from trafficking and forced labor. It was quite horrible, with tales of children kidnapped from their homes in the middle of the night in some forgotten village in Ghana. The hell the families went through to get their children back, the trauma those kids will have to live for the rest of their lives. Apparently, that organization had quotas to fulfill each month, the had to "save" a number of children each month. Only a few are reunited with their families and I cannot help but wonder what happens to the children. The CPS is horrible in the US, the state-run institutions are horrible in my country and we're an EU country. I don't even want to imagine what's it like in Ghana or other struggling African country.
Also, I found it very strange for the mainstream media to unearth this sort of story right when people are talking about child-trafficking. What we're hearing is just the tip of the iceberg...
