Gooday my Queen bees, and the King bees too...
Been a while since I've been here, thought I should make an effort and come say hi to y'all at least. What's new crew? Can't say there is much new with me. Work went well enough, union election duties fulfilled almost uneventful...people got voted in, some are happy, some are whiney...you know the usual drama. I swear men can be more dramatic the ladies!! I have had august and july off from work and I have done NOTHING and I like it. Well that's not entirely true, I did read a good deal, feed my brain a little. I did go to my nearest night sky preserve at Elk Island to watch the Perseids meteor shower we had not too long ago, that was cool. I saw about 150+ of my dead wishes fall out of the sky, at least they looked pretty! 馃ぃ
I did something really silly, I CUT MY FUCKING HAIR! 馃槻 It was down to my butt and getting annoying, probably a little unhealthy since it had been so long since the last trim. Anyhow, It is now chin length along with dark with bright red highlights. I like the color, not sure about the cut, she really went to town on it like she had a beef with my hair or something. Ah well, you win some you lose some, I had a pixie cut for a while...It will grow back. In 3 years from now, it will be back down to my butt, it grows really fast especially for my age.
Soon after work finished, I found out my old kitty girl Magic had cancer and had to euthanize her, she was 16, she lived well but it still broke my heart, she was a good girl. Like a princess that she was, the thunder gods came to collect her personally. I chose home euthanasia to reduce the stress before her passing and she was outside when the vet came. As soon as we were setting up, I could hear the thunder rolling in the background. The whole procedure takes about 25 minutes and I was afraid it would start raining midway but somehow, it remained approaching thunder until it was done and as soon as I brought her in, it started pouring rain, not a minute later...Almost like it was all perfectly timed by the universe. Perhaps it was mourning my loss with me in a show of support. RIP baby girl, hopefully Thor and Odin are taking good care of you until we can meet again 馃槝.

Sir Kit-Ten, Prince of the Chonks as now been Upgraded King and sole heir of pettings, various thrones and the cat-meat can hoard and does not intend to share馃槀. It's ok he has certainly earned his keep as Pest Control Manager and wiped out the entire backyard colony (thank goodness!). I looked online and a breeding pair can produce 60 pups in a year. EWW... Well done king Min-Min, just don't bring them in the house to terrorize/play with them in the hallway. Double EWWW. Cats can be so gross when they want.

In less somber news with life's little punches, I did get the opportunity to return to the ring for one more round of pro boxing photography as "the media" with my friend still demolishing his opponents, perhaps I should call them victims at this point! He's a beast and I'm happy about his victories but it's hard to get pictures of him when he knocks out his victim within the first round or two. I, know the photos probably belongs in sports section but me calling fights would go something like this: Some dudes and dudettes punched each other until someone got knocked the fuck out X 7. I'm really gonna stick to the photography aspects on that one.
To be fair, some of the ring ladies are badass and I am enamored with every one of them and I love seeing inclusivity in male dominated sports both throwing punches and the support squad all around from judges, trainers, sportscasters etc...This is my 3rd time attending and plan on expanding a little on that, going to weight ins and such. Who knows what kind of doors this could open up for my photography in the future, even if it doesn't, it's a thrill regardless and THE BEST SEAT IN DA HOUSE!

In other news, I got me an inflatable kiddie pool to enjoy the lazy summer in style, joke is on me, all the super hot pool-soaking days happened while I was at work and as soon as I got laid off, it got smoky from all the wildfires in B-C and around Alberta along with a lot of rain so I got to use it a whole 1 time for one hour, then it started raining with a thunderstorm...Go figure...Way to poo-poo on my pool party for one mother nature! I can't really complain about the rain, it's desperately needed and welcome it. It's been very dry the last few years, even the amount of snow we get here is slim to none, the desert of Canada.
Speaking of wildfires, Kelowna B-C is being ravaged like a face to face with Hades' inferno. My heart goes out to the poor souls being displaced or that may have passed in the fire along with Hawaii. Both such a tragedy. Lets take a moment to pray for their safety and wish them better days ahead. 馃檹
Our idiot-in-chief banned the all of news from facebook like a modern day book burning party then complained about the lack of social communications on evacuation orders on social media and blamed facebook. M.kay... what a weirdo. Didn't take me 8 years to figure it out but the ppl of Canada still think he has nice hair so he's still there. I have a better place for him, it rimes with prison but anyway. Obviously this opinion isn't solely based on the evacuation order/news 馃挬show he created but yeah, Canada hasn't gotten any better over the last few years. I hardly recognize our supposedly free country anymore. I suppose it's still better than some so I should be thankful of where I live.
In my quietness, I have been trying to focus on self care and just do the little things that make me happy and feel like a queen. With my natural inclinations, I decided to get a little deeper into blending my own beauty/pampering products with natural essential oils. Experiencing mother earth's little treasures. I have mad allergies to soy and it is found in most store made beauty products so I was a bit limited in what I can put on my skin. Problem solved! Caution needs to be exercised since most brands are actually chemicals rather than nature's essence. Talk about false advertising on their part. I found some trustworthy brands with a bit of research but not as easy as I initially anticipated.
I'm just getting started so not that knowledgeable on the subject yet since pure essence is really strong, more caution is needed in diluting them properly in the various carrier oil and their benefits. I did get myself an essential oil bible from a third gen dabbler with 25 years+ experience along with online research. That at least gets me started. Cleopatra dabbled and created her own blends following in the footsteps of her spirit goddess Isis, I wonder if I can find info on her craft. For now, I have an easy recipe for happy feet I can safely share with you.
-1 oz Avocado oil
-Epsom + Himalayan salts (fill 3/4 of the oil)
-2 drops of tea tree oil
-2 drops of peppermint oil
-Mix well
-Pour a foot bath with hot water, soak feet for a few minutes then one foot at a time, apply and massage feet with the salt/oil mixture return to bath while doing the other foot. Repeat twice or 3 times as they soak and RELAX for 20 minutes, add hot water as needed. AHHHH OMG...A treat for the working feet.
-After soaking, pat dry and rub just avocado oil and cover with socks overnight
-Repeat once per week
For maximum enjoyment, pair with a nice white clay and tea tree oil face mask (apply the face mask before messing with feet tho馃槅) I get mine at the supermarket for $2 pouch with up to 3 faces per pouch. I swear this stuff is the elixir of youth, heavy duty work dirt and all! Once or twice a week depending on skin sensitivity, use with a good moisturizer afterward.
DISCLAIMER:Tea tree oil can have repercussions on children and pets or interact with certain meds so read a little about the precautions needed or side effects in that regard. (long story short, don't use on children and pets and wash hands before touching them)) Testing diluted essence on skin first to ensure you wont get skin irritation from it)
Why avocado oil? Well that's all I had, I didn't restock my almond oil yet but I have to say, I'm very fond of it as a carrier oil. To my surprise, it has tons of beauty/skin benefits if used responsibly. It did moisturize my feet and they are indeed very happy along with the relaxing aroma! As far as my reads, I wish I could say I read half of my "to be read" pile but not quite! I did put in a small dent but then I got lost on Amazon again and now it's even longer! OOPSY. Can one have too many books tho? I did manage to conquer my own beast with reading a collection of Apocrypha (books rejected by the bible). Almost 750 pages of really tiny font that made my eyes bleed reading it, felt more like 2000 pages(mostly covers the old testament, NT is a different text)...Haha. Rather interesting perspective not quite as sinister and occult as I was made to believe but more so back stories of the characters, more man perspective on god's word and a lot of war and other ancient backstabberies.
Now it's my turn to make God's eyes bleed with my pagan literature (haha payback) he's immortal, he'll recover I'm sure. My current conquest is more manageable at just a little over 350 pages of equally small font. Darn not again, my 40 yr old eyes are not thrilled. This is also quite interesting, it is a collection of Sacred Pyramid texts/hieroglyphs collection translated from the walls of several pyramids and tombs across the different dynasties. Much is repetitive as rituals and prayers to ensure the deceased made it safely with all their needs and riches to the afterlife, much of it being ancient poems. They suspect of having found Cleopatra's resting place, would be interesting to know what's written on her walls as well as the archeologist proceed with their excavation.
Well that sums up the jist of my lazy summer, maybe next year I'll have another hot girl summer. Work will begin soon but I do have some trips taken I never posted about yet, fall is on it's way and I did some leaf-peeping last year I would still like to share at some point. I'll try to get that out in the near future before I get busy again. for now, I wrote up an appetite, Imma go make me a sammich.
