Hello everyone, I want to talk on the Nature of Matter.

As we all know, matter is anything that has mass and occupy space. Everything in the universe has matter: The food, water, plants, animals, and even we as human.
The mass of an object is the quantity of matter the object contains. It is measured in Kilograms with a weighing balance.
Matter is made up of one or more of;
Atom
Molecules
Ions
Properties of matter
The properties may be phisycal or chemical.
The physical properties of matter are;
Boiling point
Melting point
Density
Solubility
Hardness e.t.c
The chemical properties are;
Rusting of Iron
Burning of Firewood
Adding of Quick Lime in Water
Atom
Atom are the smallest part of an element which can take part in chemical reaction

Molecule
Molecule are smallest particle of a substance that can exist alone and still retain the chemical properties.

Ion
Ion is an atom or group of atoms which possess electric charge. It could be positive and negative. The positive charge is also called Cation. The negative charge is called anion

Relative Atomic Mass (Ar)
The relative atomic mass of an element is the number of times the average mass of one molecule of an element is heavier than one-twelveth of the mass of carbon-12.
Relative Molacular Mass (Mr)
This is the sum of all the relative atomic mass of the atoms in one molecule of the substance. It is also referred to as Formula Mass.
Let's solve a problems as examples
Calculate the Ar of calciumtrioxocarbonate(iv) (CaCO2) or limestone.
Solution
1 mole of CaCO3 = 1Ca, 1C, 3O
2 moles of CaCO3 = (1×ArCa) + (1×ArC) + (3×ArO)
= (1×40) + (1×12) + (3×16)
= 40 + 12 + 48
= 108
Calculate the the Ar of sodium tetraoxosulphate(vi), (Na2SO4)
Where;
Na = 23
S = 32
O = 16
Solution
1 mole of Na2SO4 contains
2Na, 1S, 4O
.•. (2×23) + (1×32) + (4×15)
= 42 + 36 + 64
= 142.
With this I've come to the end of this post.
Thanks for stopping by . ❤️❤️❤️
