I like to make sure there isn't anything dead and decaying upstream from my drinking water...it's safe practice, plus the river was too far of a walk down than I desired to go while climbing one last big hill for like the 10th time.

Here the temp is weird, it can be in the 30's in Edmonton and a big snowstorm in Red-deer (it's like an hour and a half away drive) all at the same time in the middle of summer. It has literally snowed every month of the year in some point of history I have lived here. Obviously not all in the same year tho...that would be depressing.
