Cool picture and reflection! Well that's a cute story about your parents! Obviously they went thru a unique situation trying to be together and no matter what made it work despite public image. Oh how times change! Lucky you hey made it work and had a beautiful family.

I think there was a time here it was a bit weird for racial issues but I don't think there were any laws against it besides act white or your going to a special religious school to learn how to be white, just the community harassments. I don't know if my parents were ever "together" as I'm not privy to any info about my dad besides meeting him the once. Still grew up biracial and different from my community along with a couple other kids. They were darker skinned so they got it worse than I did, I didn't really notice until I understood what the racial slur meant(nobody explained it to me as a kid). Canada has racist tones to it especially in the treatment of Indigenous and yes it was horrible for many of them. Obviously racism is less prevalent but still happens but I notice these days it is used as a crutch. Yes accomplishing things is a bit harder to accomplish and being judged for your race is shitty in any circumstances but to allow others to keep you down is like admitting defeat. NEVER GONNA HAPPEN

I like the line of "go back where you come from". I get it from time to time because my maternal language is different (french) then the local one (english) and if I can speak with someone of my language I will cause I can. I think it's hilarious cause it's generally some old cranky white guy telling this to me, a part Indigenous of the land ... I'm always like you on my land bitch go the fuck back to Europe lol. Don't get me wrong I have no issues with Europeans since I'm half anyway. Just the nerve for someone to say "go back where you come from" to anybody is absurd.
