It does but from the talks I saw, the next hardfork, it's on the table and they are talking about it. Personal opinion is hat might drive more users away even if it has the effect of reducing amounts going to exchanges therefore stabilizing the price. Majority don't know because they don't pay attention to the chatter in the comment section or governance mumbo jumbo post that most of us don't understand with our normie brains.
That's the big problem right now is too much on the exchanges and it puts too much sell pressure but if people powered up, it would help. Since people wont and keep cashing it out because it's their income or whatnot well, it doesn't help their own cause. The real intention from curation teams was to support several individuals to be the head of their communities so each country/community had a large enough stake to reward the future generation but that's not happening since many of those that need it the most are selling . Yes that happens because nobody is on the same page at the same time you can't dictate to somebody what to do with their stake either but at the same time there is the health of the platform to fund development, hard to do when the token value is low and that's the main mode of funding. (also where ads come in, it can be revenue instead of selling hive for dev costs and such). Since the future dev is the selling point of this place to attract users, it's more attractive with a higher token value to actually build said apps.
