"Here, eat this crap off your lawn and you will never have to eat brocoli again!" lol...Maybe that will sound more appealing. Actually a lot of the weeds, greens and flower petals are pretty tasty and similar than stuff people already eat. Anyone that buys bagged salad is already eating some of them without knowing like dandelion leafs. I just can't get over the fact that people pay money for it in a pre made salad mix and kill it when it's their backyard and growing for free, that is how backwards this world is financially, it's one of the most nutrient packed lettuce on the planet.
It's ok to have a few vices but we don't have to have them all! I did a post on it too a few years ago looking at stats for average spending in the country and analysed my own habits, bringing as low as I can without feeling deprived of things, just being more cost efficient and I think it was somewhere around 11k/year in savings just doing things differently like buying bulk over individual wrapped and portioning in re-usable containers for lunches, making one's own coffee, having a kurig refillable cup over the disposable cups, having a backyard get-together and a BBQ instead of meeting at the bar for food and drinks and so on. I didn't even eliminate the vice, only how it was enjoyed and are most likely better for the planet too. Same for the bottled water, it's more expensive than a soda, I mostly drink out of the tap but worse case scenario a pack of 12 is the price of 1 to 2 bottles individually for the exact same brands, it's all convenience mark-up. Just like buying miss-shaped veggies from a local produce store, it's dirt cheap like 1/3 of the price cheap, yet everyone complains fresh produce cost too much, leave the supermarket from time to time! In other words, it's not the vice that costs it's the way we do most things is inefficient.
Maybe when things are less sensitive lol. It's not quite as bad as the US yet but it's boiling over the pot for sure. I love history too and there is written history dating back to like the 1200's. My grampa used to be the curator for our family history until he passed, a decade ago.
