For sure!! Why I'm glad Alberta just ditched the carbon hoax tax. Last Saturday gas was 91 cents/L here after they scrapped the provincial plan, it was hovering around $1.10 before that. What a difference while British-Columbia is paying like $1.40 but they import american and tax it to death. We mine the bitumen in the north then it gets shipped to my city of Edmonton to get upgraded to crude then refined into gas. I build, maintain and fix the highly pressurized/heat generating units and piping connections that are directly on the units and bring them up to operational codes according to provincial and federal regulations for the processing equipment. I work for places like Imperial Oil, Shell, Petro-Canada, Suncor and stuff. I also do a lot of coal fired powerhouses and fertilizer or other chemical plants. I'm a free agent (contractor) so I'm always moving around.

I Don't speak much Spanish. My native language is french but started to learn English in my teens. So I'm fluent in both for sure. The rest I know a few words or sentences here and there from a few aboriginal languages like Cree and mi'kmaq (not enough to have a convo but enough to catch a thing or two here and there and throw a few curve balls and surprise a few.) Italian, spanish and Portuguese are similar to french so I can pick up a few things there too. German has similarities with english so I can pck up a few things there too. Canada is so multicultural. I'm like a mish mash of different languages. Traveling in the Rockies you get exposed to it a lot. Many come here and don't speak the native language but we stand out as a sore thumb as locals with our cowboy hats and tourists like to talk to us to learn about the good places to go. Sometimes just to get to talk with a Canadian too because it's mostly tourists in the parks, even those that work there are mainly on work visas. So many times where we feel like we are like the wildlife entertainment. 😆
