Very interesting to see how you collect your own water. While we don't have to pump our own water (Thank god, 'cause we live in the arctic and it's already -15C!) we do have a somewhat similar setup where we have a limited capacity of water that we can hold. It can be difficult if the weather gets bad and there's a snow storm because then our water delivery gets disrupted and we can have to go without until they can get to us.
How long does your water last until you need to refill it?
The blog about getting water also reminds me of a traditional Inuit folk song about children gathering water. Here are the lyrics to go with it.
ᐃᒥᖅᑕᖁᔭᐅᒍᒪ / Imiqtaqujauguma / If I’m asked to get water
ᓱᐊᖓᔭᐅᒐᓗᐊᕈᒪ / suangajaugaluaruma / even if I’m scolded
ᐊᐅᓪᓚᕈᒪᒐᔭᖅᑐᖓ / aullarumagajaqtunga / I would want to leave
ᑕᐅᓄᖓ ᑕᐅᓄᖓ ᑕᐅᓄᖓ / Taununga taununga taununga / to down there, down there, down there
ᐃᒥᖅᑕᕆᐊᖅᑎᓪᓗᖓ / Imiqtariaqtillunga / While I (finally) go get water
ᒪᓕᒍᒪᓐᓂᕈᕕᑦ / maligumanniruvit / if you want to follow
ᒪᓕᓐᓂᐊᖅᑯᑎᑦ / malinniaqqutit / do follow
ᑕᐅᓄᖓ ᑕᐅᓄᖓ / Taununga taununga taununga / to down there, down there, down there
