I also smoke cigs. For 20 years. My dad smoked 2 packs of 100s a day. Two years ago he need surgery for hernia and the dr. Said he had other issues with his heart so he needed to wait for the surgery. He stayed at the hospital for 3 days without smoking and the scare of it all made him quit. He is healthier after 2 years of no smoking. My gf dad same stoy 1 year without smoking. I tried like 3 times for 3 to 4 months in my life and coulded do it. The last one was the worst because my stupid company "got me help" with ofcourse a 3rd party company; nicorette...and got me to stop smoking for 4 mo. but got me hooked to their bullshit and drove my tolorance higher. So, natural way is best. So one trick I learned that helped...was to eat candy or chew gum you don't like. That way you don't indulge in other bad habits like overeating. Dude, the first step is to do what you did, post about it or talk about it. Also, bad habbits are feelings that come and go. Sitting with the negative feeling and recognize the addiction by...not pushing it away, but, by imbracing it and watching yourself go tru the thought-chain that leads you to the addiction. Kinda watch your innervoice make excuses to relapse. That voice comes everyday and you just let it say what it wants, just know it's deceiving you to get a quick endorphin fix. The feeling come, just know it also goes just the same. Good luck man.
