Hello everyone! Today, I want to share with you about this island, which is nestled in the Eastern Visayas Region. From its historical landmarks to stunning tropical beaches - my friends, welcome to Leyte, my home.
Its hidden gems.
When it comes to pristine beaches with their rich marine biodiversity, this province surely has a lot to offer. You can visit Kalanggaman island, which is located in the municipality of Palompon, with its crystal clear turquoise water, powdery white sand, and long sand bars.
You can also experience island hopping in the four scenic islands known as Cuatro Islas, off the towns of Inopacan and Hindang (well, my hometown). When you are looking for the perfect place to relax, with its beautiful lush vegetation, lo and behold, these beaches offer serenity at its finest.
We also have here Canigao island, in the municipality of Matalom. It also offers crystal clear water and white sands, a sweet tropical escape, it is.
With its beautiful scenery and a healthy dose of vitamin sea, Leyte surely is a tropical haven.
Architectural wonder.
Moreover, we have here the San Juanico Bridge, one of the most beautifully designed bridges in the Philippines. It connects the shores of Samar and Leyte provinces. It is also considered the longest bridge in the country. It welcomes tourists with its mind-boggling and amazing views.
Embracing beauty in resiliency.
Not only the place but also its people have something to be always proud of being a Leyteña. It housed the most resilient people on earth, which withstands one of the strongest typhoon to ever hit land in history, Yolanda. You can even see the remnant of the devastation, up to these days, the shipwreck, which marks the genesis of Leyteños' resiliency and adaptation. Our lives were shattered but we rebuild and are today, still standing strong.Padayon.
Truly, our province is a beautiful paradise, yet to be explored by many. If you are one of those selfie junkies, you can always take your cameras and take pictures with Instagram-worthy backgrounds. Or just simply enjoy and breathe in the tranquility of the moment. You can always add this to your itineraries in your future travels and be mesmerized by its hidden beauty.
