Hello hivers! Great day to everyone! How was your weekend? Well, mine was well-spent with family. It was my daughter Star's first time to roam around the city so we might as well make the most out of it.
My family agreed to visit the Venice Grand Canal Mall which is located at McKinley, Taguig City. Living up to its name, it is an Italian-inspired architectural design which resembles the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy's most romantic city.
It was an honor for me to be able to witness firsthand the construction of this architectural wonder, because the contract for its structural phase was awarded to DATEM, the company where I am currently working at, last 2014. And I am glad to say that this is proudly DATEM-built.
Upon entering the mall, since my last time here when it was still under construction, I was amazed how the architectural facade has added beauty to this place. We were welcomed by the good scenery, an exact copy of Venice, with Italian music being played anywhere. Also, there are lots of dining options, from cheap eats, fast food chains, into Italian restaurants.
As we continued our stroll around the mall, of course we will not miss the chance to take the mandatory shot for souvenir. I was carrying Star in my arms, she was sleeping at that moment when we took the picture.
This mall also has a replica of Venice' Ponte de Amore bridge, where love locks are being displayed, which added romance to the ambiance.
The man-made Grand Canal, which is the highlight of the mall, offers the mall's guests an Italian experience with gondola ride tour. We were simply contented by taking a look at it, hoping one day we can experience it ourself.
My Star was obviously happy wandering around the mall. She could not take the smile off her face. The genuine happiness as seen in her eyes, were her silent voice telling us that she enjoyed the trip, enough to call it a day. I am glad that at her early age, together with my Mama and younger sister Roni, we are starting to engrave happy memories with her, and one of them is bringing her to this Venetian-inspired place.
When you get the chance to visit Manila, this Venice-inspired designed mall should be on your list too. Be amazed by this beautiful structure, a true glimpse of Italy in the heart of the city.
