I've been meaning to do this post for a while. I've enjoyed reading a bunch of different people's Hive stories so it's time I share mine. This trend was started by none other than @snook. She did the Fairy challenge which was super fun and she's also doing a Monster challenge, which I need to write for. Where does the time go? Why can't days be like 28 hours? There's just never enough time to get shit done. Anyway.. On to my story lol
The exact amount of time, I'm not sure. But I know it's been over 4 years because I have the sweet Hive Buzz badge to prove it lol. I joined back in the Steemit days and stayed active for a few month then life happened. I took a break, came back, and took another break. I eventually landed here on Hive in March of 2020.
Talking about it is a little crazy. I got into Bitcoin in 2015 and built a pretty good mining setup for back then. I was mining a pretty good amount of Bitcoin every day and using it to pay bills, buy weed, and other shit that you do when you're young and dumb. I obsessed with it and I lived in the middle of nowhere with shit internet so I spent a lot of time in as tiny shed I built for my miners. I had 7 Antmiser S3+ and 1 Antminer S2. I also had a miner that I built from scratch and spent way too much money on. Ever since then, I've been obsessed with cryptocurrncy.
Literally had no background in writing at all. I've always been what I would consider good at writing. I type very fast but I never really enjoyed writing. My brother was my inspiration for writing.
None. I was a minnow in the giant pond of the Steemit world. I was just trying to figure out how to use Steemit and get people to read my posts.
Honestly, I was a lurker for the longest. I hopped in Steemit.chat every now and then and remember meeting a few people there. Aside from that, I just have always liked commenting and engaging on posts.
I was lead to Steemit by @crypt0 from watching his Ethereum videos back then. I looked up to him a lot because I always wanted to make crypto content but never felt confident enough to do it. I also looked up to
@papa-pepper a lot because he was always consistent with his posts and videos. Always encouraging others.
My first 3 months... Man, it has been quite some time. I was a complete noob obviously... I didn't know what I wanted to do with my blog. I did a variety of different things trying to find my way. I learned a lot about crypto in those few months that I hadn't previously known despite my experience. I was in but I wasn't in if you get what I mean.
Absolutely. I've learned a lot about myself. I've learned a lot about different parts of the world that I never would have. I've made connections that I would have never imagined. I feel like I've grown up a lot since I first got here. I've become a much better person than I was before.
I don't think I have one specific memory that was a favorite. Overall, it's been an incredible experience. Meeting @readthisplease and doing our first collaboration post was awesome. Meeting
@trippymane and hanging out in VR for the first time. Meeting
@dreemsteem,
@shadowspub, and
@thelogicaldude at Hive Fest. All really cool moments.
Be genuine. Be yourself. Be active. Most of all, have fun.
